Cookies. Cookies. Cookies.

One Dough, Three Cookies!

Sugar Cookie

3 1/2 cups self-raising flour
2 sticks butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

* icing, additional granulated or decorating sugar

Eeemmm simply enough for me.
I am going to make some cookies right now.
I mixed some dough last night.
I just need to thaw them out and make me some cookies.
I wants the house to smell great.
Darling Hubby wants gingerbread cookies.

Merry Christmas to me and to darling hubby.
Christmas. No white Christmas but still it is Christmas and I wants the house to smell great.

Spring

"I love spring anywhere,
but if I could choose I would
always greet it in a garden."

Baby Shower

We don't do baby shower back where I came from. We have Fullmoon Shower. The idea is the same I suppose just done it differently. Baby shower is before the baby is born and fullmoon is the first month of the baby birthday.

I found this on Wikipedia.
Traditionally, baby showers were given only for the family's first child, and only women were invited. The original intent was for women to share wisdom and lessons on the art of becoming a mother. Over time, it has become common to hold them for subsequent or adopted children. It is not uncommon for a parent to have more than one baby shower, such as one with friends and another with co-workers.

Poetry

Alaska

Ice built, ice bound, and ice bounded,
Such cold seas of silence! such room!
Such snow-light, such smite like a doom!
Hear that boom! Hear that deep distant boom
Of an avalanche hurled
Down this unfinished world!

Ice seas! and ice summits! ice spaces
In splendor of white, as God's throne!
Ice worlds to the pole! and ice places
Untracked, and unnamed, and unknown!
Hear that boom! Hear the grinding, the groan
Of yon ice mountain hurled
Down this unfinished world!

By Joaquin Miller

I found this poetry from the "My American. A Poetry Atlas of the United States.
I do not know who is Joaquin Miller. But one day I would like to go and visit Alaska.
